COMMITTEE ON GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT

The Committee on Gender and Development is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering individuals of all genders within the community. Its primary responsibility is to develop, advocate for, and implement policies and programs that address gender-based disparities, promote inclusive practices, and support the rights of women, men, and gender minorities in all areas of life.

A core focus of the Committee is to ensure equal opportunities for all genders, particularly in areas like education, employment, healthcare, and political participation. It works to eliminate discrimination and violence based on gender, advocating for laws, policies, and practices that provide protection and equal rights for everyone, regardless of their gender identity.

The Committee also works to raise awareness of gender issues, providing education on gender equality and social norms that perpetuate discrimination. Through community outreach, workshops, and public campaigns, the Committee seeks to shift attitudes and behaviors that contribute to gender inequality, while fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and mutual support.

Another key responsibility of the Committee is to promote the participation of women and gender minorities in leadership roles and decision-making processes. It advocates for policies that ensure equal representation in politics, business, and other sectors, striving to break down barriers that prevent diverse voices from being heard and valued in critical discussions.

The Committee also addresses specific issues such as gender-based violence, access to reproductive health services, and economic empowerment for marginalized gender groups.
