12TH REGULAR SESSION

The 12th Regular Session for CY 2025 of the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Polangui, Albay held at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall on September 15, 2025.

The Polangui Transient Vendors raised their concerns regarding the current location for their economic activities during market day, claiming that it resulted in poor sales. They sought clarification and possible solutions to address this issue. The body assured that all their concerns are heard and duly directed to the personnel and officials responsible for the market operations.

Engr. Edgar Arbor, MENRO, discussed the IWA BESU outstanding tipping fees and the potential problems associated with this matter. The body hopes that the fees are settled before the end of 2025.

Honorable Councilor William H. Buendia delivered his Committee Report, presenting the results of the ocular inspection conducted at the Polangui Public Market on September 9, 2025. He was joined by Honorable Councilor Rizaldy B. Recierdo, Honorable Councilor Niño Adonis B. Rebeta, and Honorable Councilor Atty. Kristel Louise S. Pasia. In his report, he recommended the immediate declogging/rehabilitation of the drainage system, repair of roof leaks, and rehabilitation of dilapidated stalls, with the goal of ensuring a safer and more functional market environment for both vendors and customers. He called for intensive implementation of the rules on solid waste management, sanitation, health, food handling and market regulations.

Honorable Councilor Niño Adonis B. Rebeta provided supplemental recommendations to the Committee Report, emphasizing the need for a long-term rehabilitation plan for the Polangui Market.

Honorable Councilor Atty. Kristel Louise S. Pasia shared similar findings from the ocular inspection. She highlighted key issues concerning sanitation, infrastructure, health, and market management.

Honorable Councilor Eugene L. Arive proposed the conduct of a joint committee meeting to comprehensively discuss and address the public market issues.

Honorable Councilor Jose Niño Zamora II reported on the awarding of the SGLGB Passers, where five barangays from Polangui successfully received recognition during the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas National Congress 2025. Namely: Barangay Centro Occidental, Barangay Kinuartelan, Barangay Lourdes, Barangay Napo, and Barangay Lanigay.
