8TH REGULAR SESSION

The 8th Regular Session for CY 2025 of the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Polangui, Albay held at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall on August 18, 2025.

Honorable Councilor WILLIAM H. BUENDIA expressed his contentment on the action taken by EMIRAM Construction regarding the concern addressed through the committee hearing held last week. He looks forward to the submission of pertinent documents and reports coming from MPDO, MEO and MLGOO on the projects of Barangay Gabon.

Honorable Councilor NIÑO ADONIS REBETA called for intensified solid waste management efforts that should primarily be observed within the Local Government Building. On his Committee Report, he outlined the outcome of the Consultative Meeting with EMB, PENRO, MENRO, MLGOO, among others, for the proposed Environmental Code. On another note, he announced the intention of a representative from Far East Fuel Corp. to attend the regular session to discuss Zero Waste Solutions.

Honorable Councilor RIZALDY B. RECIERDO reported on the results of the Consultative Hearing on the Revised Traffic Code and the Public Hearing on the proposed Skills Training Ordinance for the PDLs with BJMP. He highlighted the enthusiasm of the TODA and various sectors for the latter; and the relevance of the training program of the former to help PDLs be equipped with skills prior to reintegration into society.

Honorable Councilor JOSE NIÑO ZAMORA II introduced the proposed creation of the Lowland Area Development Council consisting of 16 Barangays across the municipality.

Honorable Councilor EUGENE L. ARIVE laid out the results of the meeting he convened with various important individuals. His meeting with the Department of Agriculture spearheaded the opportunity to outset an Integrated Copra and Coconut Facility in the Municipality. Furthermore, his discussion with Department of Health sparked the probable establishment of a Polangui Superhealth Center. Attainable only upon mutual arrangements and compliance to requisites.

Honorable Councilor Atty. KRISTEL LOUISE S. PASIA enjoined the body to attend the seminar with DILG to be held at Davao City on September 17-19, 2025.

The body was also enjoined to participate in the:

• CDP, ELA training seminar on August 27-29, 2025 at Polangui and at Naga City on September 1-2, 2025.

• Regional Orientation Seminar for Elected Officials on the Budget Operation Manual for LGUs for Albay and Sorsogon on August 19 to 20, 2025 at the Marison Hotel

• The NEO PLUS Program training is set on September 10-12, 2025 (1:00PM, Wednesday to Friday, 6:00PM) at Legazpi City.
